![]() Thankfully, it's free to play, and with no threats (yet) from the big N and various third parties, this game should be here to stay. Crossover 2.0 debuted last week, complete with graphics that mimic NES, SNES and even Game Boy. Well, at least it did, until Super Mario Bros. Suffice to say, it's the first homage that not only meets the quality of Shigeru Miyamoto's groundbreaking title, but also surpasses it. Mario's there, of course, but you also have a choice between Link (Zelda), Mega Man, Samus Aran (Metroid), Simon Belmont (Castlevania), Bill Rizer (Contra), Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden) and Sophia III (Blaster Master), all of which possess signature weapons and abilities. Released in 2010, the 2D side scrolling adventure is a modified version of the 1985 NES classic with the unique spin of playing as other characters from the 8-bit era. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Unless you're Nintendo (or one of the company's lawyers), it's hard to dislike Super Mario Bros.
